I have been privileged to do a job I love. I enjoy providing a safe place for children to explore and learn about their emotions using their language. In the atmosphere of a safe place they can begin to learn healthy coping skills for managing their feelings. I love working with parents to provide the support, encouragement, and resources needed at this time. Adolescence is a difficult time where they begin to explore their identity and what they will stand for. I enjoy using art as a way of connecting and gaining that sense of identity.
I am a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) which has provided further education in childhood disorders, early development and attachment, and family dynamics. I have experience working in Therapeutic Day Treatment, School Based, and Outpatient settings. Beyond my professional experience, I have personal experience as a foster parent.
My passion and focus is in assisting parents and children/adolescents reconnect and build a positive relationship. I want to help everyone understand and accept each other so that homes can be as peaceful as possible. I also utilize the parenting skills I teach with my own children.
